Todd Easterling is a novelist and business person in San Diego, California. He was originally discovered by the acclaimed Pinder Lane Garon-Brooke Literary Agency, of John Grisham fame. In addition to writing novels, Todd has worked with HBO, Disney, Time Warner, and companies in the wireless/tech industry, a key highlight being reception of a group Emmy from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Todd's extended family has, for 30+ years, also owned a real estate brokerage and Ad/PR agency in San Diego (Carlsbad, La Costa, Rancho Santa Fe, La Jolla). Todd is interested in animal rights and environmental causes, as well as emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, DNA/gene editing, and communications technology.
Todd Easterling has written four books, two of which remained in the top 1% of sales on Amazon for several years (ebook edition). He recently completed his fourth novel which is currently in editing, an epic high-concept suspense story at 400,000+ words based on years of research on great people from history and their contributions in several sectors (Scientists & Discoverers, Entertainers, Artists, Writers, Athletes, Leaders & Politicians, and Spiritual Leaders).
The novel has been described as "Michael Crichton meets Dan Brown," a story that combines real history and locations with a high concept premise encompassing new technologies, an exciting climax, and a surprising conclusion with global impact. Research for the story involved genetics / biotechnologies (CRISPR-Cas9/gene editing), issues facing Earth's species, and the evolution of the world's gods and religions from Egypt and the Ancient Era to modern times—with emphasis on the Roman period, and the historicity of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. There was also a review of scholarly research on the canonical and gnostic gospels, archeological sites/tombs, Constantine's and early Christians' development and marketing of the Church, and historic sites such as the Pantheon, Saint Peter's Basilica, and its necropolis.
Todd was influenced by people who kindly provided technical input on his previous books, such as Dr. Ian Wilmut (first scientist to clone a mammal, "Dolly the sheep") and Dr. Raul Cano, the scientist who first extracted dinosaur DNA from ancient amber, which helped encourage author Michael Crichton to write Jurassic Park. Todd's vision for the project was to create a story that is exciting, supported by science, includes incredible real locations and accurate history, is capable of being marketed to worldwide audiences, and can support broad publishing, motion picture, and merchandise business models. Research for the story included trips to Rome, Florence, Venice, and Pisa Italy, as well as London and Paris.
Todd Easterling resides in La Costa California (coastal San Diego / Carlsbad California), is single, and has three daughters, Emily Easterling (age 17), Hayley Easterling (age 17), and Aleksandra "Sasha" Easterling (age 22).
